Talked to my 87 year old Dad this weekend and I asked about my Grandfather. My Dad thinks he worked for the Eire in a shop up in Secaucus NJ as a boiler man. Any info if that was an Eire facility back in the 20s,30s and or early 40s? Thanks for any info...Mike

It is quite possible (probable) as the Erie had a Roundhouse in Secaucus. It was at the west end of the freight yard. I know, we still had "Boilermakers" working there when I was a Machinist's Helper in Croxton (as it is known)in 1972. A word of caution, you may have a conflict, as the DL&W also had a roundhouse in Secaucus,

Thank you for the unfo. Yes my Dad said there was a roundhouse there and a turntable ? I would love to see if there is somewhere to research employee records of the Eire.....

Mike,
just FYI..its spelled "Erie" not "Eire"..
that might help with your research..
you wont find a lot if searching for the "Eire Railroad"
(except for stuff about Ireland probably! ;)
