Medford branch is correct. Heres pictures from today in Peabody, Salem and Medford. LA-X left Somerville at 1840 headed for Lawrence with 1 empty reefer and 6 empty covered hoppers.

Just seeing if I understand this correctly: Did LA-X take the Haverhill line all the way down from Lawrence to get to Crystal Cold Storage on the Medford branch?

Why was the reefer in Medford for 5 months?!
  by csrrfan86

LA-Xtra first worked Peabody and brought back the empties to Somerville. They then ran lite to Medford to get the reefer.

LA-X started out Friday night in Lawrence and went to Somerville via the Wildcat, Lowell mainline.
They then made a trip to Everett and back to Somerville. This crew put up in Somerville.

A new crew went to work Saturday and went to Salem and return to Somerville. This crew went to
the Medford Branch from Somerville (FX Interlocking, Reading Jct to the Reading mainline over
the Mystic River to Wellington). They came back from the Medford Branch the same way.

They then put their 15 cars together in Somerville and went back to Lawrence via the Lowell
mainline and Wildcat Branch

LA-2 is running tonight to Somerville and rumor is they will head to Salem.
There are scrap loads in old Yard 8, so maybe there's an Everett trip in
the cards too...

Power is MEC 376

This thread has been quiet for some time thought I should add to it. Last activity was on the morning of March 28 8:30am. MEC 376 left Eastman through Peabody Square towards Salem with three empty hopper cars. No activity in or out since.

There is a LA-2 tonight coming down to Somerville. Probably will head to Salem.
No concrete information on what they are doing. MEC 379 is the likely power.

MEC 379 arrived at Eastman in Peabody last night. New crew arrived this morning at 0900 and left with six empty hopper cars.

They also went out to Everett and back. pulled an empty out Boston Paperboard in Somerville and
put up at Mystic (the old hump) due to mechanical issues with the 379.

Four empty hopper cars on the siding at Eastman Gelatine waiting to be picked up. Does anyone know the status of MEC 379 after the mechanical problems in Somerville.
