"Train left standing without crew". Not always becasue of hours of service, but usually.

It may mean something else to railfans, but to railroaders (on Guilford) "canned" always means running out of time on the Hours of Service law. You can "can" somewhere and be immediately re-crewed, it doesen't always mean the train will sit wherever it is. If the crew still had time left to work, but left the train tied down somewhere, they would say they were "taken off early".
Different terms are used on other railroads and in other parts of the country, like "hoglawed" "outlawed" or "dog catched".

The only other thing I've heard on my RR besides "outlaw" is "blow-up"!
