I was in the West Chester area this weekend and I drove past the Whitford and Exton Stations. At Whitford there was a very massive and elaborate bridge almost on top of the existing SEPTA tracks. I dont believe there were any railroad tracks on this bridge though.
Down the line at Exton, there was a tall concrete bridge crossing Route 100, with the PRR keystone, parallellng the SEPTA tracks. It is about twenty or thirty feet higher than the SEPTA line.
I am assuming this was the same rail line at both stations. After some searching, all I came up with was that this was the "Trenton Cutoff", but details about the line were sketchy. Can anyone tell me about the bridge and the line in general?

But where were they going without ever knowing the way?
