when i was up at Saginaw a month a go Patrick the 975 was still up for sale i believe, he was trying to get rid of it with the 469 and 974 but hadnt heard anything yet.
was in Saginaw yesterday and the 974 and 469 are no longer sitting in fron t of the tower now sitting just south of the turntable, i did not se the 3515 or the 3504 any where but i didnt go to far into the yard.
what.. up into saginaw but didnt come visit me.. its alright.. i've been really sick the past week with phnemonia anyways. anywho.. the 3515 is DOA.. being stripped for parts.. so it was prolly in the shops. And the 3504.. was getting new wheelsets last week.. so i'll bet it too is still in the shops. I hope they get the 3504 running again.. they are badly short for power right now. I'm looking to see more EMD's before x-mas.
yeah i was up there tried to get ahold of you on aim but couldnt didnt know i was going until about 1/2 hour before i went and only had a few mins to kill.
AlSO........ the order was given 3 weeks ago. "PARK ALL ALCO/MLW UNITS ASAP"
They've been given a short reprieve already. 181, 1280 and 281 are the only known units running around yet though. 381 is mothballed in Alpena's roundhouse. 3504, 3500 and 798 are all dead in Saginaw i've been told. ALL ARE FOR SALE. we need to get our pics now because these units wont last much longer.
hey all. look like things are on the up for the LSRC. All the alcos are said to be running. these include 181, 281, 381, 798, 3500, 3504 and the 1280. hopefully things will keep the alcos around for another year.
Ha! They'll need some good luck in finding any decent GP40s available right now, and they'll need an outright miracle to find anyone who would want to trade GP40s for Alcos.
