subway station tiles

What type of tiles are used in the nyc subway stations and how is the IRT tiles differ from theBMT and IND tiles in terms of design,make,style,size and color?

If you go to nycsubway.org there is extensive discussion of the various stations on the different lines and the type of tiles among other things.

IND tiles have a "color code" pattern. Most IRT and BMT tiles between 1904 and 1931 are Beaux Arts-based designs. Later IND styling used an Art Deco theme.
