Starting on Memorial Day Weekend - SEPTA will be offering discounted
roundtrip fares. Article states it is also available ONBOARD.
On a Zone 2 roundtrip at current pricing bought in advance the savings is
.75 cents - $4.00 if purchased on board.

This is an attempt to get over some of the bad press from applying the on-board fare surcharge to travel from stations where there is no ticket office available. They're spinning it as a fare sale.

Typical. Last time I took a weekend trip, I missed the 30th St. Station ticket window by 5 mins. At least this will alleviate that problem.
