I used to see NY&A gondola cars hauling scrap metal. I believe I read somewhere that they were aquired to keep Gershow happy. Nowadays all I ever see are private company gons (JTSX, CEFX etc.). Does the NY&A still use them?

Gershow also has a fleet of there own ( GERX ) cars now as well.

The NYA gons were leased many years ago, and were returned when the lease was up.

Most of the CEFX gons you see are leased by Gershow. As mentioned, they also lease the GERX high side hoppers as well.
