Getting back to the original question:

You can draw your own schematic of the area; doesn't include everything, but most of the stuff you're after.

Draw five parallel lines the width of a sheet of paper-- call them lines 1 thru 5, counting from the north (top of the paper). Then three more lines from the left edge of the paper to the midpoint, lines 6-7-8, then line 9 the width of the paper.

At the midpoint of the paper lines 6 and 7 bend northeastward and cross above lines 1-5, heading for NY Penn Sta. Line 8 peters out midpaper. That was roughly the layout until circa 1989: lines 1-3 are the DL&W main to Hoboken, line 4 is the Centre St branch, line 5 is the westward PATH and line 9 is the eastward PATH.

Around 1989 they built a bridge so they could extend line 8 northeastward above lines 4-5; it then turns eastward and returns to ground level south of and parallel to lines 1-3, which it eventually connects with. This is the Hudson Line, connecting the PRR main to Hoboken and the MMC.

Then in 1997 (?) they opened the other-way connections between the DL&W and PRR. Eastward on line 1 you first come to the connection that curves directly up to meet line 6; then, still west of the overhead lines 6-7, another connection splits from line 1, runs parallel to it under lines 6-7, then curves left to reach line 7.

Hopefully-unnecessary reminder: these numbers have no relation to the actual track numbers.
