General discussion about locomotives, rolling stock, and equipment

We've all seen those four-axle trucks we call AAR Type A or B But really, is there a real name for these? I've seen the "AAR-B" referred to as a swing-bolster design, but that sounds more generic.

All trucks have "real" names. Hi-Ads, Blombergs, Drop Equalizers, Blunt, Radial, etc. Depends on the exact truck, and the trucks are easily identified, with something like "The Second Diesel Spotters Guide", or some similar type of book, that covers most of them, with good pics as well. Regards....

Well I understand that, HiAds were an Alco design/trademark, as was the trimount truck. Don Dover or someone of X2200S first applied "Blomberg" to the truck, after its designer, since EMD had no name for it (this was in 1968).
But at least, who designed the "AAR" switcher and road trucks?
