I'm building up information on Bath & Hammondsport RR circa 1940's and 1950's and I am particularily interested in exactly what kind and type of freight they actually handled - what it was, what particular industry it was coming from or going to, etc. The wineries are kind of a given so more interested in the 'other' stuff - Mercury Aircraft, farm goods, lumber yards, coal, etc. Any info appreciated. Since the B&H was owed by the Eire up until 1935 or thereabouts, I thought this forum might have some info. Thanks!

Bob,
I only know of one book that has any real info on the B&H..
"Keuka Lake Memories"
I dont remember exactly how much it has on the B&H..I checked it out of the Rochester library awhile back, but I know it does have *some* info, and photos, of steam-era B&H..

You might also try the Rochester railfan forum..
you will get more "locals" there who might be able to help you..

Thanks, Scot, for the information. I have already gotten a copy of Keuka Lake Memories plus some other material from references listed on Kalmbach's site in their magazine archieve. KLM actually has quite a bit on it. Plus I bought a copy of Trains from 1947 (?) that had an article plus a Kalmbach model train layout book that had an article on them. Plus lots of poking around on the internet. I'll check on the other forum you mentioned to see if I get any hits there. Again thanks.
