I was one of the trips but did not take video. Here's how I recall it went, although my memory may be a little fuzzy. We left Jamaica over the mainline and reversed direction at Harold Interlocking to cross over the Hellgate Bridge and proceed along the Northeast Corridor to New Rochelle. There we changed direction once more and headed onto the old New Haven mainline to Woodlawn where we joined Metro North's Harlem Division and headed south to MO where we took the "wye" to head north on the Hudson Division.
We stayed on the Hudson Division to Beacon, where once again we changed direction to enter the old Beacon branch, which runs to Hopewell Jct., where it connects with what is left of the Maybrook Line. From there, we headed into Danbury, where the local railroad museum had some of its equipment operating, including a Rutland Alco RS-1 road switcher.
Then, we changed course a fourth time to enter the Metro North Danbury branch, which brought us back to the Northeast Corridor at South Norwalk. One of the highlights of the trip back was being passed by an Amtrak express while crossing Hellgate the second time. How often do two passenger trains run on the bridge in the same direction at the same time? Our last reverse was just west of Harold, so we could proceed back on the LIRR main to Jamaica.
IIRC, the power was three MP-15ACs with an F-7 power pack on the rear. All were done up in the dark blue and yellow scheme, which was brand new at the time. We had three coaches and three parlors.
