Does anyone know if the siding in Medford that goes to Bud and another building is still in use? I was by there today, there where no cars there and the tracks looked rusty.

There are occassional reefer loads to the cold storage warehouse
out there, but that's all that's left. Service is as needed.

There is a siding further up on the Western Division that goes down a slight grade, crosses Commercial St. in Malden and onto the Pantedosi Bakery property.

Guilford would deliver a closed gondola car full of flour once a week. My office was right next to that siding and actually got some pictures of them swithcing the car there.

Do they still use rail there or are they done?

The bakery hasn't gotten cars in years. Used to get mostly
airslides.

Thought that might be the answer. When I saw the deliveries, it was back in 1999 to 2000. I recall talk of the bakery switching to truck, which they tried for awhile, but swithced back to having rail delivery. But since it was Guilford that they were dealing with, I'm sure they made it hard.

I also recall that when they did deliver a car, they had to have another box car in the middle, because the weight of the locomotive would have caused a derailment.
