In June, 2006, the Mount Rainier Scenic is running several charter steam trains over the entire line between Morton and Tacoma. This will be the first such trips since the Museum was founded. Power will be their 2-8-2T and the train is limited to 5 passenger cars. Info at www.southernappalachia.railway.museum, the group paying to have it run.

Would rather ride behind the Heisler lol but that would be a long slow ride ( well faster than the Shay and Climax but still) Kinda neat that a group on teh east coast is going to set this up.

Actually, because of mechanical issues, the entire trip was made behind the Heisler. Photos are on the website at www.southernappalachia.railway.museum.
