Would there be brake apply and brake released lights in the cab of the ALP46?

Being a new loco, I assume there would be. On LIRR stuff there is. Isaw mentioned in another thread that this was no indication.

What you saw in the other posting was that there is no indication of a stuck brake. A brake can be released, and all components of the rigging can be in release, but either the pads fail to move back from the disk, or the shoe remains firmly against the wheel. A brake indicator does NOT report these conditions, since it receives its signal from the amount of pressure in the brake pipe.

There are brake release lights in all NJT equipment, but they are subject to the above limitations.

Curious, though. Are the little green/red indicator windows on the side of the ALP-44s (or is it 46s?) actually showing SHOE position, or brake cylinder rod position?
