I'm a 3D animator looking to do a period peice involving a western U.S. frieght train robbery (circa 1890's) I'm looking to be authentic, and need advice as to which Locomotive to use (and where I could find accurate blueprints and photos) and which carrier would be involved ( I was thinking U.P. but other suggestions would be helpfull) any other information that you feel is relevant that I have accidentally overlooked would also be helpfull.

thanks

Suggest you check with California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento. There are others, but they might be the best place to start.

Good luck!

OK, if you haven't found these guys yet and are still looking for info, I'd suggest you try: [email protected]
BUT BE WARNED! You may end up with more technical info than you asked for, which is not necessarily such a BAD thing, per se, but just be prepared!
Anyway, they're real nice guys and I'm sure will give you every detail you could ask for and more.
