I found this picture on one of my favorite state RR sites. An Illinois Central Paint Loco.... Now I would have thought by now that (Loco owned by CN) it would have been repainted... why not???

For starters, that picture is a year and a half old, so it might be painted, by now. Also, paint jobs cost money, and railroads don't normally paint an engine, just to make it match. First time it's due for some serious repair work, or for it's annual, or tri-annual inspection, it might just get repainted. A more realistic approach is to repaint the logos, and re-number, if needed. Sometimes referred to "patch" painting, this alters the identity, from it's previous owners. Regards :wink:
