The five-year, $3.1 million agreement will rename SEPTA's 30th Street Station into Drexel Station at 30th Street. The station serves riders on SEPTA's Market-Frankford Line, trolley and bus routes. It is not affiliated with William H. Gray III 30th Street Station, which is owned and operated by Amtrak.
The official unveiling of Drexel Station at 30th Street will occur "in the coming months," SEPTA CEO and General Manager Leslie Richards said in a statement. That includes new signage and other improvements for the station's transformation.
As part of the deal, Drexel will pay SEPTA the $3.1 million over the course of the five years of the agreement, or about $620,000 annually.
