Yeah, the 300 looks bad. There a inconsistencies in whether the truck driver was in the vehicle, abandoned the vehicle, or watching the A's game in a bar.
16 people injured after Amtrak passenger train partially derailed in Southern California after hitting vehicle

At least 16 people were injured Wednesday when an Amtrak train collided with a truck blocking the tracks and partially derailed in Southern California, local officials said.

The driver of the truck was transported to a trauma center and another person was taken to a medical center with a “minor medical emergency,” according to the Ventura County Fire Department. Fourteen others were transported from the scene with minor injuries, it said in a tweet.

The department said the other passengers of the Coast Starlight train appeared uninjured.

Train No. 14 was traveling from Los Angeles to Seattle at about 11:15 a.m. PT when it struck the vehicle obstructing the tracks in Moorpark, California, about 50 miles northwest of Los Angeles, the rail line said in a statement.

Colonel, how could have "our road" (we've both reported here at the site we hold Long positions UNP) allowed that engine to become such an easel for some "starving artist"?

Very interesting video. I assume the external white hose is for the airbrakes? Presumably the lines through the Amtrak locomotives were untrusted after the wreck?

And the diner is listing badly and making quite a scraping noise! (1:56 in the video, etc.) Does anyone have insight into what may be the issue here?

The air brake lines were sheared off from the front of 300 by the collision; there is nothing to connect it to. I think this means they couldn't close the line on that locomotive and so had to bypass it entirely.

What do the orange X's on the cars mean? That they're considered fit for repair?
