Which infrastructure improvements are they working on?

Too much to hope Amtrak would use these idle cars on other short hauls out of CHI?

What other short hauls using equipment out of the Amtrak Midwest pool would benefit from having 3 extra coaches and one extra cafe 4 days a week and not on the likely busier days of the week?

(I've seen reports that passenger railroads are in general shifting scheduled maintenance days from weekends to midweek post-covid since leisure traffic is recovering faster than business traffic and in some cases leisure traffic has surpassed pre-covid counts.)
