Does anyone know if you can still get access to the track platorms under KC Union Station. It looks as though Science City built a new addition and blocked the holes where the trains used to run under the station, and from the waiting room the stairs down to the platforms have been walled up. I'm sure there is still a way down there and probably lots of old RR stuff.

I think you can get to old platform area by using Science City's parking lot--the lot covers nearly all the area that was once filled with tracks. The KCS has a repainted F-unit on display.

The Railroad Experience at Union Station is slated to open September 23. Plans include a BNSF simulator that has been used to train engineeers at Johnson County Community College. Vistors will be allowed to operate the simulator.
