American Car & Foundry No. 8, a GE 45-tonner, was sold in auction held in Milton, Pa at the end of July. It was recently transported to Lowville where the new owner hopes to establish a tourist operation.

If they are planning on using the Carthage station as one anchor, they've got some substantial bridge work to do on the Black River bridge. It's my understanding that a pier has settled...

You can see it in the street view where a pier has sunk, there's a bit of a wave in the rails.

Looks like the MA&N has been pulled up below Shady Ave. down to Kraft, the L&BR may be what they intend to use but it's pretty rough on the lower end. You could just go to West Carthage and not use the bridge I suppose, that looks to be in better shape but none of this track has been used in a very long time.

Anyone have any updates on this? I will be in the area later this month and wondered if the engine was could be photographed, or if the train was closer to operation. Thanks.
