The photo leading this article shows a stretch of track near the RU-NK border with dual gauge. North Korea is apparently Standard while Russia is Broad gauge.
I had the opportunity to ride the Barcelona-Paris Catalin Talgo during '90 which changed "seamlessly" gauges at the Irun frontier.
Unfortunately, my connection from Sevilla was "way late" and both the connection and my opportunity for that unique rail riding experience was lost.
