1061 update from suburban Chicago: Continuing its journey east 4th out behind two CN units, and UP leader 6837 on a short manifest towards a CSX connection in Chicago via the IHB railroad. I'd look for it in Boston early next week...

1032 looks like it went back into service yesterday. Felt like the testing on this one went quicker than its two predecessors...

Ain't necessarily so. Most class 1's coming through Chicago have other locations for transfers and hand offs that don't involve BRC or it's yard at Clearing. For UP and CSX, this occurs just outside the city limits at a junction where both roads cross each other, and after a crew change within a matter of hours, off they go.

With the massive amount of freight traffic coming through here daily, delays are a fact of life around here, no doubt. But if the delivery of the rebuilds is taking several weeks, those engines could be sitting around at other points en route...

More than likely 1032 was probably the engine that they worked the bugs out of compared to 1050 and 1054.

1063 and 1028 were outside MPI in their shiny new paint schemes when I went by the Boise facility over the weekend.

1057, 1061 and 1065 all still in Chicago! Precision Railroading at its best!

The 1054 worked my Kingston train this morning, so it's in circulation on the south side now.

1061 escaped Chicago yesterday and on the way east...should be close to Buffalo...

Nothing on the 1028 & 1063, then next two to come home.

I suspect they might not leave until the 1057 & 1065 get to Boise.
