NHRR 40 to Operate Excursion from North Wales Station

Rode on it. It was actually very nice. They provided water in coachclass, and had a voice over of the history of North Wales.
The conductor told me that they are planning on more excursions on SEPTA territory this year.

NHRR 40 photographed from the platform when I detrained from SEPTA train 508.
Knoxville Locomotive Works SE15B SPAX 80 on the south end of the train.
Photos as the train left the station on its first trip.

Any idea when they are heading back? Thought I heard diesel horns in Glenside around 9:10.

Great pics as always, Bob. I had commitments yesterday & couldn't even go up for photos let alone ride.

Reminds me of the WCRR trip to Lansdale a few years ago.

If you zoom in, that's my ugly mug sitting in SPAX 70. Shame I couldn't make it up to see the steam running, but hopefully there will be another opportunity!

How did y'all get the diesels from West Chester to Lansdale? I assume you couldn't go through CC.

They went through the tunnel. Diesels are allowed in as long as they get a straight move through.

By doing a straight move, you help to create pressure that helps to clear out the fumes. It's really not bad. I've been in Suburban when work trains come through. They're not that dirty.

That’s really interesting. Must have been cool to see Blueliners in Suburban again, albeit unpowered.
