So, with ACSES being activated tomorrow for Civil Speeds, is it safe to say that today's the last day for the M2s?

no they will operate just like all other MN trains that not have ACSES yet.
more than 80% of fleet still has no functioning ACSES.
its only made functional for those trains already equipped.

they can not retire the M-2's till replacement M-8 cars arrive in 2019/2020.

Any scrap yard photos available? Of them getting cut up? I know its not likely, but railroaders have strange connections.

Thanks Dutch. Not quite the big facility I was expecting. Its big land area wise, just a lot less scrap metal laying around. You can see them clearer with google maps, and nothing from street view.

Somewhere I have pictures of a LI M1 being cut up rather crudely with an excavator at TTC in Colorado. I have to learn how to share photos here.

As per Gregory Grice on the unofficial MNRR FB page, all M2's have left the property as of this morning (the remaining sets were set out in New Haven on Track 6 as of yesterday). So if you're along the route out to Ashtabula for FICX, you may have the opportunity to see them along the Springfield line, or B&A line.

The one comment on that post about how the FICX markings making it rare is hilarious. Those pictures are a dime a dozen.

I suppose I should add my goodbye photo to the thread as well.

Seen at New Haven on April 2.

Farewell, old friend. :( Your deliciously retro design lured me into the strange world of railfans. lol

Yes, I did take this photo right side up but no amount of editing seems to save it from being upside down on rr.net. I suppose that's fitting given the circumstances.

No, I don't plan on changing my username to Jenny on a M8.
