I thought Metra was already having N-S build more new cars through an option order from VRE. What ever became of that? It is too bad N-S has had all these problems in the U.S. market. They should have been the best option for Metra just to keep things simpler. Why not build the cars overseas again?

N-S is closing down Rochelle, which is why they didn't bid.

It's likely we may see single level cars and possibly DMU's on some of the lower density lines...

Why do you say that? Metra has never used DMUs and hasn't used single-level cars for forty years.
