Sooner or later, there will be computer issues — above and beyond the locomotive's road number — that have to be addressed. Will PAR be able to do that, or will the locomotives have to be sent out, or will GE techs have to come up here?

Looking forward to seeing photos of the newly-painted loco. I'm not on FB so I can't see the one that was posted.

The DW Drummer shot was nice, being a 3/4 shot on the transfer table at Waterville.

I'm digging the white handrails. Is that an arrow pointing down on the shortnose?

The arrow is a step indicator, there is one on the other side too, marking the point where the walkway drops down.

They also put the model designation on the cab, which is new to the paint scheme. Seems like they took a bunch of cues from the CSX paint job.

They're also being a bit more generous than usual with the reflective tape along the frame.

I like the black on the fuel tank and trucks, looks much better than the blue. I also like the white hand rails on the ends and the white on the roof of the cab, it adds a nice contrast. I am surprised that they kept the 4 digit number.

Pan Am has become something of a spokesmodel for GE's preowned locomotive sales division:
GE Transportation wrote:“We have been very pleased with the performance of our Dash 8 locomotives. This new fleet is allowing us to decrease the total number of locomotives in our fleet delivering us fuel and maintenance savings. I can’t say enough about how much the GE team has been great to work on the locomotive side as well as the digital solution side. The digital team has worked seamlessly with locomotive group which has allowed Pan Am to unlock digital solutions to further improve our operations.”

So mebbe GE could advise PAR how to reset the power ID number before more repaints take place?
