Amtrak's ITCS train-control system has a time-to-penalty (TTP) display.
I think that displaying TTP is useful in helping engineers optimize movement of their train. Some clients of mine think that it is not useful and/or prevents engineers from looking out the window.
Being a pilot, I believe that pertinent displays can be useful and even important without being distracting - how about airspeed on approach to landing.
Any and all comments by loco engineers and other knowledgeable folk about the TTP display will be appreciated.
Feel free to also send me e-mails at [email protected].
I will be away the next two weeks but will be checking my e-mails.
