I see no problem with them existing, and I believe that continuous recording is probably the optimal method.

I'd say that they should not be allowed to be used for "active" monitoring, but only in the case of misconduct allegations (or accidents/other mishaps) by investigators. Someone's boss shouldn't be able to dig through the past month's footage to find something to punish the employee they don't like for.

I think this is the conclusion the debates about police body cameras are largely coming to as well.
