Someday, like all locomotives they will probably be replaced with newer ones, do you think some heritage units will be scrapped? Or will they all be preserved? Or will none survive? What do you think?

EMD "F" units can last a long, long time. Norfolk Southern has maybe the best railroad shop facility in the country and that is a big plus too. I think these "F" units might outlive most of us here.

Well said - this is a 30+ year question. Look at the SD40 fleet that is still running strong 45 years later on class I's.

Someday they may be repowered with all new yellow Cat engines.
