Just cruising google maps. Following the tracks going north from Steamtown to a town called "Carbondale" there appears to be a turntable foundation. Did an old arial on it and and there was a pretty large yard and roundhouse there. Any info on this yard? Looks like it was huge in the 1940s but gone by 1969. Now there is just a semi-rusty single track that serves some type of industry and it dead ends.

Anyone know what this facility was?

Delaware & Hudson 41 stall roundhouse build circa 1912. Had a turntable long enough for D&Hs ALCO built Challengers.

I think the Delaware Lackawanna runs a fracking sand transloading operation in Carbondale. Not sure if it is on the exact site of the old D&H yard. JS
