Great find! I have never seen any of these. The Photos range from 1908 to the early 1920s but all concentrate on the Forest Hills Extension, and various changes.

Anyone know why there's two coaches just sitting on the Needham Line in this picture? Did the New Haven use that center track as a small storage yard or something?

The scrapping took place on all tracks, including the former elevated yard. The yard was used for four months, from August 1913 to December 1913. The surface yard was connected in 1914. Scrapping took place between 1919 and 1921. Third rail was still in place at the time. I would date the photo as before Shea Yard opened ca. 1911 - 1913.

...and an article about how they're doing the digitization and categorization of all these piles and piles of old photos: http://bostinno.streetwise.co/2014/12/0 ... -photos-1/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
