Streamliners at Spencer

Who is planning on attending "Streamliners at Spencer" at the North Carolina Transportation Museum? I am planning on going for all four days.

Railroad Museum of New England's newly restored New Haven FL-9 #2019 caught on its first leg of the journey down to Spencer NC from Thomaston CT on Friday May 9th.

Will the Museum put a Hancock 4700 air whistle back on or MN's 2 chime horn?
Can understand the horn off for the trip to Spencer.

Yes, both Hancocks (front with the dish, rear - dishless) will be installed by our crack mobile mechanical department staff after the unit arrives in Spencer, along with other items deemed "not a good idea to ship with the unit".

And, yes, it will be operating at Spencer with their excursion train at some time(s) during the event, so the whistles will be heard.

I'll be there all day Thursday representing U.R.H.S. of NJ for Reading F7 No. 284. The other three days will be at Concarolinas 2014 science fiction convention in Charlotte.

A 26th locomotive has been added: EMD FT demonstrator #103 from the Museum of Transportation in St. Louis.

I'll drive up from South Carolina on Friday or Saturday; maybe on both days.

Does anybody have any details about the Streamliner Special excursion from Charlotte to Spencer beyond what's on the NCTM web site, in particular the routing? (link)

The one-way trip time is 1.5 hours. The Piedmonts take about 40 minutes from Charlotte Amtrak to Salisbury via the NCRR; add time to get from the CRIF to Charlotte Amtrak, and from Salisbury to Spencer, and that probably chews up most of the 1.5 hours. Once last year I drove the "back way" from Spencer to Charlotte. It looks like there a number of good photo locations along route 29A through China Grove, Landis and Kannapolis. The tracks run mostly pretty much alongside the road, right through the centers of the towns.

The most likely alternate route would be north via Mooresville to Barber Junction, then east to Salisbury and Spencer, but that route looks like about 70 miles, on freight-only track, so I'd be surprised if they go that way. It would be nice, though!
