The DL&W signal system was unique, and its assets were pretty much unusable in a recovery and re-use way. It wasn't worth the effort to salvage them

I recall being in Scranton in June 1993 ( pre-Steamtown ) and exploring the ROW. The signal system was very obviously out of service but there were still relays in the cabinets at that point.

I recall that some NJ businessman purchased the ROW and was planning to
remove the fill and use it elsewhere. (Later stopped by NJ)
The rest of the salvage may have been part of the deal.
