Recently when i was riding on the Trenton Line i noticed what looked like a large abandoned building near the old frankford junction station. There is an engine and a few rail cars sitting outside of it and they are heavily graffitied. i tried to upload a picture to no avail. does anyone have any information on this and what purpose it served? any help is greatly appreciated.

i know what your talking about. an old e or f cab unit in VERY faded amtrak phase 1 paint, a few baggage cars and a few hoppers. i've seen MOW equipment and ballast hoppers parked there at times, there's three or four tracks in there, but i have no idea what it is.

Juniata Shops are in Altoona. The facility in question is Juniata Terminal Company. Their equipment is stored inside the warehouse.
Conrail's Fairhill Yard is adjacent, and their yard lead runs past Juniata Terminal Company. The MOW equipment that was stored there belonged to Conrail. At one point, Conrail MOW equipment was stored on JTC property.

Is this in the same vicinity where there's an old PRR caboose, which is also located along the Trenton Line...I THINK between the North Philadelphia station and where the MFL crosses over the NEC tracks?

I dropped a pin on it on this map of Philly Rails.

Where exactly is (or was) the PRR caboose I was referring to? I remember seeing it when I used to take Amtrak to New York City back in the 1980's/1990's.

It's at a community garden just west of 18th Street between the tracks and Glenwood.

Yup, I pass by it on my way to work. It's a (locked) community garden. No idea how to access the site.

Map link shows only stone hoppers, no locomotive?

it's on a spur right next to the nprth side of the building, damn oblique angles.

Oh, if you use the directional ring top left you can turn the POV from north facing south!
