Wow! :o
thats cool!
Is it the real LV 126? unknown..lets find out!
126 is listed as "status unknown" on the LV survivors page..
never confirmed scrapped, but also never confirmed surviving..
126 is one of the "rebuilds"..
LV 120 to 130 started out as NW1's of 1937 and 1938 vintage.
in the 50's, they were all sent to EMD, over the span of a few years, (not all at once) and they returned as SW900m's..
they were 90% rebuilt..
Some consider them different engines after they came back, some consider them the same engines, but heavily rebuilt.
its a grey area. To confuse it even further, the later ones received new builders numbers, but the earlier rebuilds didn't..
LV kept all the same road numbers, before and after the rebuilds.
Only two, so far, are confirmed surviving, 125 and 130.
Here is 125 today:

and 130:

(many EMD switchers have received full-body handrails in recent years..that alone isnt a reliable spotting feature)
But 125 looks like a prefect match to the KJR 126!
Here is LV 126 in 1975:

wow, its looking good! not 100% confirmed yet..but comparing the real LV 126 photo to the "new" 126,
I see nothing that rules it out..everything seems to match..
I will google about some more! see if we can find out where 126 has been hiding all these years!
im not ready to call it yet..but its looking good! Its pretty likely we have a new LV survivor found!
