I'm looking for any Lackawanna roundhouses that survided. I know there is one in Scranton. The Kingston, Pa one was razed two years ago. I read somewhere there is one in Conklin, NY. But I couldn't find any more information about it if still around.

Thanks for any information.

Yep, Conklin Roundhouse (East Binghamton Yard) is still standing..barely..
its a ruin, abandoned many many decades..probably hasnt been used for anything since the steam era..
its been slowly decaying for 60 years..
Its currently private property, not railroad property..
(ironically CP built a new turntable in the yard about 10 years ago!)

Here are some aerials of the East Binghamtom Roundhouse:

click on North, South, East and West (in the upper left corner of the screen) for different views..

East Binghamton is the only DL&W roundhouse still standing in NY state..
There were once four in NY:

East Binghamton
Elmira
Groveland Station
Buffalo.

the other three are long gone..

The Oswego DL&W roundhouse lasted until the 1980's. At that time it was used to store vegetables from the local onion farms, one night 82 -83 I watched it burn.

Cortland Junction also had a small roundhouse to serve local switchers and the Cincinnatus Branch power after servicing was from Cincy proper. The turntable at the Jct. remained in place until the late 1950s, early-mid 1960s. With the end of steam, engine servicing was moved to the freight house area, although I have photos of HH660s at the Jct. engine facility.

The LV/DL&W looked at least twice into pooling their engine, passenger, and freight facilities but it never came to pass.
