I am soon going to make my first railfan trip to the FRR. I know Tuesday or Friday are my best bet for a train to Brockport but I don't know what time to be at Lockport.
Can someone please tell me the crew's on duty time?
Thanks,
Ken Gear

Hi Ken,
With my past experiences, I would probably recommend being down near the yard area at Michigan St around
8:00 AM or so. There is/was a area to park near the corner of Park Ave/Michigan St, but it was been a long time
since I have been there to check them out. But back when I was there, they would get the engine out of the house,
and make up the train and then head east. Hopefully someone more up to speed with current ops can chime in.

Good luck!

Charlie

Thanx. I am weighing my choices for an Alco-powered chase day.

Make sure you bring the good camera to get shots of the crew....

I visited The Falls Road first the time in years on a Saturday so of course nothing was happening:

These two now sit on a siding behind the former(?) Jamestown Container on route 78 approaching the (left/north) turn from Grand St to Clinton st.

And going back to the "what time do they operate" question above.. my wife and I recently moved into the city and just after 8 am we hear the low-toned horn (the higher numbered engine right?) and I say "there goes Falls Road probably hitting all the crossings in the city headed east" and my wife says "That sounds like a boat on the canal." I set her straight. :D
