Temperatures were over 100 degrees yesterday in some parts of the state yesterday.

But a quick scan of the news I didn't see any delays or malfunctioning trains this time around.

If you recall the train that literally shut itself down in Elizabeth in 2010 after reaching 135 degrees inside, and the 20-30 delays because of expanded rails and overhead wires. All blamed on the ambient temperature of 100 degrees.

How come this time things ran so much better?

It hit 100 degrees for a few hours in one day this time around. Last time we had several days of 100 plus temps and it didn't really cool down overnight.

We had speed restrictions around Chicago but I've not heard of any east coast speed restrictions yet. The heatwave just broke 24 hours ago, hopefully you guys get it soon, too. Stay cool.

Slow discussion day heh? Nope, no infastructure or equipment problems that I heard of this time around.
