Push-pull train/cab car operation question

Dumb question here, but when a passenger train has a cab car in front and a locomotive on the back, running in push-pull mode, since the cab car has a human operator in it, does the locomotive have a person in it as well?

No it does not. The main locomotive propulsion controls are duplicated in the cab car(cab car has its own automatic brake), and the engine brakes respond to the brake pipe the same way a regular car does. For all intents and purposes it is considered a locomotive.

no its controled from Cab car with a 27 point electrical system, just like a kids remote controlled car.
just like in a consist of locomotives where lead locomotive controls all locomotives in the consist with same connector/jumper.
