The first link takes you to the offering page but you need to sign in to get details including price-- presumably to keep out the lookie-loos (like me).

Any thoughts on what the asking price might be? Just curious.

And of course, not including shipping :)

I just created an account, to check the price:

$20,000

From the listing:
This unit can not be shipped on its own wheels since it is equipped with friction bearings. It will need to be trucked or loaded on a flat car, the interchanging railroad is Canadian Pacific. For shipping quotes please contact Ozark Rail Logistics at http://www.ozarkraillogistics.com

Former Lehigh Valley Railroad caboose, built circa 1940, converted into a escort caboose for escorting high and wide shipments, also used as a ticket office for a tourist railroad. Some of the mechanical details include: great body, friction bearings, cast shoes, AB valves, interior gravity water tank, remodeled interior, oil fired caboose stove, small kitchen with propane stove and refrigerator.

Can't be shipped, asking is about double what it's worth give or take.

Not going anywhere right now. Iowa Pacific bought everything except the RS36 and a couple of passenger cars.

I had a chance to get inside that baby and it is a clean and well kept as your typical living room. about the nicest caboose I've ever seen.

I know the paint is not LV correct so it might score only a 98 out of 100 on the perfect chart.
