Convince Governor Kasich et al to fund the 3-C proposal.

Or, kick him out at the next gubernatorial election and elect a governor in favor the the 3C project.

Kasich is term limited to two terms.

I thought I heard that somewhere. That's certainly good news. Now, Ohio should elect a pro-rail governor who would be in favor of the 3C project and would fund it.

A brief note ... on board recently I noticed that Amtrak's "Arrive" magazine has now been rebranded "The National". At least the memory of this train will live on within Amtrak somewhere however indirect the reference may be.

Another National Limited remnant is the current Thruway bus service (8029/8030) between Pittsburgh and Indianapolis via Columbus and Dayton. It is interesting to see that regardless of difficulties Amtrak continues to try and serve these markets along this route.

Perfect if you want to spend an hour in Pittsburgh between 4:20am and 5:20am (or 4:20am and 7:30am if you want to go from Indianapolis/Dayton/Columbus to Philly/New York via the Pennsylvanian). And the return trip? From New York/Philly arriving in PGH and 8:05pm or from Washington DC arriving in PGH at 11:48pm to leaving PGH at ... 3:40am!!!!!

Philly AF: can we compromise and both advocate for NYC-CHI via PGH, COL, and IND? Maybe a STL section too, if we feel generous?

Or combine the proposed Chicago-Ft. Wayne-Columbus route with a Columbus-PGH-PHL-NYP route works too.

That's one of the routes All Aboard Ohio wants to have happen.

I'd forgotten that the ex-PRR Panhandle was torn up between Springfield and Indianapolis, so yeah, service west of Columbus does need to go via either Ft. Wayne or Dayton.

What was the name of the former B&O subdivision used by the National Limited that went through Richmond?
