The Francis L. Suter was taken off the 291 at Rutland on 7/29, over nighted at the Rutland engine house where it was fueled and watered, made a round-trip over the Bellows Falls Sub today (7/30), and will depart from Rutland on 8/1 on 290. I don't know its itinerary once it departs Rutland.

Friday's train 42 Pennsylvanian had PV SUGAR CREEK on the rear from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia. SUGARCREEK was behind the motor from Philly to New York.

Someone in greater Indy went by Beech Grove Sunday morning and saw an IPH Budd full dome there. It had no markings visible, including the name board.
Photo below.

Anyone know anything?

This is one of the sisters to Ocean View, no?
Wonder if someone finally figured if yo're going to have a one-off, two of them costs less than 2x as much and can be a great marketing boost.

NOT Quite,ex-ATSF "Great Dome",done up in full IP/IC paint. Beech Grove does contract work/inspections on private cars for a price($$$$$$).
Could be some sort of "horse trade" or something else.

Ah thanks. Those are more like "cousin" domes. Still as I understand it, lots of commonality in parts.

Would be nice if it was some sort of acquisition. Oh well I'll keep dreaming.

Just observed a "unique" consist on #3 (30).

Appeared to be two normal #3 consists together coupled rear to rear. Evidently some train had to be short turned. Anyone know when that ocvurred?

So, anyone who reviews the several "spycams" along the route, such as at La Plata, MO. will have something other than a "so what's new" viewing.

Considering both the Eagle and the Sunset are under service limitations, sounds like a reposition from Chicago.

I believe you observed the deadhead move of one Sunset Limited trainset accompanying the regular consist of train 3. Amtrak deadheaded this equipment from NOL to CHI, then onwards to ALB. I suppose it will eventually reach Los Angeles, where it can return to service on the Sunset Limited, when needed. Trains 1 and 2 are currently operating between Los Angeles and San Antonio only.
