Mike Roqué
Webmaster |
Mike's lifelong interest in trains developed at a very young age growing up in Mount Vernon, New York in the midst of Metro-North commuter operations and the New York City subway. A move to Rochester, NY to attend Rochester
Institute of Technology, whose campus is in close proximity to three railroads and an active museum, sharpened his interest in history and preservation.
Today, he is an active member, webmaster, and trustee at the Rochester
Chapter of the National
Railway Historical Society and their Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum. Mike is also an active model railroader, serving as webmaster and superintendent of the Lakeshores Division of the National Model Railroad Association and a past president of the RIT Model Railroad Club. A student of railroad operations and an experienced photographer, Mike can be found trackside throughout western New York and beyond capturing the modern railroad scene and preserving history.
Mike holds Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Information Technology from Rochester
Institute of Technology. He's currently a web developer at an e-commerce company in Rochester, NY and also embarks on various special web projects. |

Otto Vondrak
Creative Director |
A Lionel train set at age five was the start of it all for Otto Vondrak. His name may be familiar to some of you who read Railroad
Model Craftsman. Otto has several authored articles on topics ranging from track planning, to kitbashing, to scene construction, and also creates many of the illustrations you see in the magazine from month to month. Now he turns to assist in the development of RAILROAD.NET.
Otto hails from Katonah, New York, and was also exposed to the fast pace of Metro-North commuter operations at an early age. An avid photographer since the age of eight, trains of all sorts have rarely escaped his lens! His travels have taken him around the Northeast documenting everything from Class 1’s to obscure shortlines.
Otto received his BFA in Graphic Design at RIT, and currently works for a Connecticut advertising agency. He is a founding member of the RIT
Model Railroad Club, and continues to remain active in the club as well as the Rochester
Chapter of the National
Railway Historical Society. He is also a member of the Railroad Museum of New England and the Catskill Mountain Railroad. When he’s not chasing trains, he can be found leading his Boy Scout troop into the woods (and sometimes back out again). |
